When I came to live in Baltimore in the late 90’s, I lived with my grandmother because my family and I was not familiar with the Baltimore area. So we resided there for a while and then moved to the Ramblewood Apartments, which is located around the Alameda area of East Baltimore. My parents then enrolled me at Leith Walk Elementary School, which was not too far from the Ramblewood Apartments. I used to cry every day because I didn’t want to go. During my school years, I was constantly bullied a lot and there was a very unpleasant experience which I don’t want to mention. Roughly in my fourth grade year, the bullying eased up in my school and I began feeling comfortable again in my classes as the people around me began to get used to me, but every now and then there was a jackass in my vicinity and you know the rest. To conclude this blog, I have mixed feelings about Baltimore, but I do favor Baltimore County over Baltimore City because in the county, there is barely any crime in my neighborhood, and everything seems very peaceful. However in the city, you have to constantly watch your back, and have to be concerned about crimes like murder, robberies, break ins, etc… I also watch my back in the county, but the area in peaceful overall and I do it as a precaution.
