A War Zone

Baltimore is a very small city so a lot of people know each other so it can be friendly, but it’s very rough and dangerous. Baltimore offers a lot of good things such as the Harbor, Arena, Museums, and many other things, but as far as people and crime rate that’s off the charts. Many areas in Baltimore are dangerous and have many issues such as drug dealers, gang members, anything you can think of we got it. Now lately a lot of teens have been getting pregnant, more crime, deaths, and a lot of young black men are in jail.

I walk the streets of Baltimore each and every day and it’s like I’m surrounded which a good city but wrong decision making, Baltimore is a war zone every man for themselves the police aren’t your friend either, so my best advice would to be mind your our business and you will not have any problems. Don’t find trouble because trust and believe trouble will find you that goes for anybody.  

When I was growing up it was very hard for me to stay out of trouble and I was always in the street. I was young and did not know any better, I wanted to do what all my friends did since they were like two years older than me. I live around you can say a dangerous neighborhood called Belair road. The last couple of months there’s been a lot of violence happening around there as far as deaths, drugs, and robberies.  It was to a point where I was selling drugs to make some money. 

One day I got pulled over to the side by four white police officers on a dark night. They started to ask me questions, checking and accusing me of doing something I didn’t do. To me I thought that was uncalled for because I was on my way home and the fact that you pulled me over because you thought you saw me do something, I also think it was based on race. But Baltimore has its ways. It looks like a nice place but looks will fool you. You   have to know your surroundings and watch your back because people are watching you and people are sneaky. They will pretend to be your friend but turn their back on you when it comes down to a situation or money mostly. Try to keep your circle tight and don’t trust anybody, nowadays you can’t even trust your family. They do what they think will help them survive.
