Every summer in Baltimore there is
a festival called Afram. It’s held downtown in the Inner Harbor near the Ravens
Stadium. In the past summers I never got to go but this past summer I did. I got
to experience the food, people, games, music and arts and crafts, loitering, jewelry,
and hot sun. I went with my mother who
was working on a concert with R&B artist Chrisette Michelle. While she
worked the concert I wondered off on my own little adventure. As I walked I saw
couples young and old holding hands, kids running around, fire flames from a
barbeque grill and heard happy laughter.
Later that night I got to watch Chrisette Michellle perform and after
her performance I hung out with her in her VIP section. The VIP was outside on
a board walk type structure near the water. Everything seen and touched in the
VIP was white. From the candles to the couches and silk lining hang from the
poles.
