Growing Up In Baltimore

I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. I lived here all my life, and I love my city. When I was young my aunty used to take us down to the Inner Harbor located in the downtown area of Baltimore. We would walk all the way from Johns Hopkins Hospital to the Inner Harbor instead of catching a bus.
Yeah I know it seemed a little far. But it was so fun because I was young, full of energy and happy to be around my family. The people we used to see back then were friendly and caring. You didn’t see any gangs, and hardily any homeless people on the streets. Everything was clean, with no trash on the streets, kids playing football, tag, boys chasing the girls, playing hiding go seek. Those were the good old days.

My aunty would take us to the movies.  After the movies we would go to the harbor and walk about sightseeing. We would go look at the boats by the water, go to the aquarium, and the convention center, which was another one of my favorite places. Then we would go grab a bite to eat at one of my favorite places called Uno's. The harbor has so many different places you can eat.

This was one of the best times in my life living here in Baltimore. Around that time you didn’t have so many crimes here in Baltimore. I mean you could fall to sleep with your door open and no one would try to rob you or anything. It was a safe place back then when I was growing up. Now things have changed so much here, you see more crime, drugs; people don’t care for one another. I love my city but it needs an upgrade.
